Digital preservation policy
The Journal of Political Communication uses the LOCKSS system to preserve its digital archives, creating a distributed archiving tool for collaborating libraries. This allows them to create permanent archives of the journal for preservation and restoration purposes.
The journal belongs to the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), which allows for the preservation of the authentic original digital version of the content of journals published in the Open Journal System (OJS). It is also part of the digital newspaper archive of the Autonomous University of Nuevo León (UANL) at the following link: https://hemerotecadigital.uanl.mx/collections/show/459. Furthermore, the UANL performs continuous monthly backups of its servers through its data center.
Interoperability Protocols
The journal is hosted on the Open Journal System platform dedicated to the management of scientific journals, and therefore integrates the OAI-PMT protocol. It also uses the Dublin Core meta tagging standard.
