Peer review process

Article Submission and Receipt: This stage begins with the author submitting the article through the OJS (Open Journal Systems) platform. The author must submit the article in Word format, along with their curriculum vitae. Once the article is submitted, the submission process is automatically completed, and an acknowledgment of receipt is sent.

Preliminary Editorial Review: Within a maximum of 72 hours of receipt, the editors will evaluate the submitted articles and determine if they fall within the scope of the journal. This phase involves reviewing the editorial quality and contribution to knowledge of the submitted article. Its structure (form and content) is reviewed, verifying compliance with the American Psychological Association (APA) publication guidelines. If the submitted article does not meet the established editorial criteria, the author will be notified of the editorial decision. If, on the other hand, the article passes the preliminary review stage, it immediately proceeds to peer review. The editorial decision is final.

Peer Review: This evaluation is conducted using a double-blind method, meaning the article is submitted anonymously. At this stage, two expert reviewers in the subject matter are assigned to analyze the assigned article based on editorial policies and a pre-defined evaluation format. The reviewers have four (4) weeks to complete their review. Once the reviewers submit their feedback, the lead author is notified. If the article is not accepted by the peers, the lead author is informed subtly. If the article is accepted with some suggestions, the anonymous review is sent to the author so they can make the necessary adjustments. The editorial decision is final.

Editorial Review (after peer review): The editor will thoroughly verify that the authors have made the corrections suggested by the peers. If necessary, further rounds of review may be conducted until the text is definitively accepted. In any case, at any point during this process, the article may be rejected if the author(s) are deemed not to meet the requirements set by the peer reviewers or the journal itself. The editorial decision is final.

Style Review: Once the editor has verified that the corrections have been made, the article will be sent for copyediting. At this stage, the copyeditor will address aspects of the text's writing and style.

Layout (Editing): This stage aims to ensure the article's aesthetic appearance by adjusting spacing, typography, and colors.

Final Editor's Review: The editor grants final approval.

Publication: The articles are now in the final stage of the process, ready for publication. Each article published in the journal will be assigned its corresponding DOI.
